You can spend a fortune on skin care, but if you don’t take care of yourself, then you’re wasting your money. Here are some tips to keep your skin looking youthful and beautiful.

  1. Do not smoke, and avoid being around others that smoke.
  2. Limit alcohol. Alcohol has many negative effects on the skin including aggravating acne rosacea, and dilating blood vessels.
  3. Use a broad spectrum SPF15 or higher sunscreen every day, even if it’s cloudy.
  4. Exercise regularly. Among the benefits of exercise are increased circulation and decreased stress levels, both of which make your skin look younger and healthier.
  5. Sleep for at least 7-8 hours every night.
  6. Eat foods high in antioxidants such as berries and dark colored vegetables every day.
  7. Include Essential-Fatty Acids (EFA’s) in your diet. Good sources include fatty fish such as salmon and tuna, and flaxseed oil.
  8. Limit caffeine. It dehydrates the skin, making wrinkles and imperfections look worse.

Consume enough water. Drink at least 6-8 glasses per day to maintain supple skin, and aid in the elimination of waste.
