Some information on GERD

Now that the holidays are upon us, you may find your stress level, which had been tolerable or low, increasing. You may be experiencing symptoms suggestive of GERD (gastroesphageal reflux disease)-heartburn, bleching, dysphagia, regurgitation, even chest pain. If you have gone to your doctor about these symptoms (and you should see her because it may be a symptom of serious heart disease) and had prilosec prescribed, there is a natural alternative.
In a study from Brazil, it was reported that a combination of melatonin, amino acids including tryptophan and methionine, and B vitamins was more effective in the relief of GERD than prilosec. Although this study needs to be repeated, I suggest those with GERD give this cocktail a try as it is natural, free of adverse drug reactions and for many people, quite effective.
